Another Success Story

I have had Willie since 2015 & Twilight since 2017, both Woods alumni. When I adopted Willie, I had no intentions of getting a young dog as I had 2 senior dogs at the time. I went out to Woods Humane Society to see what small adoptable dogs they had, and I came across Willie ( who had been dumped in a trailer park in Nipomo and picked up by Animal Services then transferred to Woods), another dog in the back sunbathing, and a dog that was out for a walk with a volunteer. So, I cruised back to Willie, looked at him with his long legs hanging off his cot and said to myself, well you're pretty handsome. I called his name a few times and after him quickly approaching, sniffing through his kennel, and laying back down like a good boy I knew I had to take him home. We did an introduction with Roxanne & Spike, and they all could care less about each other, and so I proceeded with the adoption. Needless to say, he has been one of the best dogs I could have ever rescued. Twilight on the other hand, had been rescued from Kingsburg, CA by a local rescue organization who found her being kept in a Rabbit Hutch. She had been adopted by a friend of mine, and after a year, they realized that they couldn't provide her the time, attention, and patience she needed to continue to heal. I had just lost Spike, and although was not looking for a new addition, when I got the call asking if I could take her on as a new fur baby, I didn't hesitate. I have always had a love for animals of all shapes and sizes, but these 2, hold my heart because of what they endured in order to live a better life with me.
